History calendars

STRATTON – The Dead River Area Historical Society is selling 2005 picture calendars. This year’s calendar cover features Stratton High School’s class of 1955. Monthly photos include Stratton High School classes of 1958, 1963, 1961; the Shaw House Hotel in Eustis about 1890; Stratton High School class of 1963; a river drive photo of Big Spencer Steam, 1957; Harold Tague and Sons, 1943; Stratton High School basketball team in 1948; Joe Knowles & A. B. Douglas, 1915; the Willard Ryan family in the mid-1970s; Hilda Ames’ 90th birthday party in May 1992; and the Wing family of Dead River in 1948. Calendars are available at Pine’s Market, Northland Cash and Fotter’s Market, or they may be purchased through the mail for $6 plus $1.25 for postage for each calendar.
