BRIDGTON – A series of community dances is being sponsored by Citizens Against the Cold. The group will host an organizational meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, in Bridgton’s Municipal Complex. Bridgton’s Recreation Department, led by Phil Gutekunst, has given the group the green light to start organizing community dancing at Town Hall on North High Street.

“Except for one or two weekends, you can use it right through mud season,” Gutekunst said. “Organizing these dances is going to be part fun and part work. We get to pick the music, but we need to start thinking about rules and scheduling. Sharing the work load,” he said, “will be your key to success.”

Citizens Against the Cold also needs to borrow CDs and CD players, amplifiers, speakers and extension cords from the community.

The dances will be open to all and will be free, organizers say.

Those who want to help but can’t attend the meeting Tuesday may call George 647-2389 to be put on the list for future announcements.
