LEWISTON – Loretta Delisle, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Russell Park Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Lewiston, May 8, 1920, the daughter of Alfred and Eva Desjardins Denis, she had been a resident of this community all of her life.

On Nov. 28, 1946, she married Ernest Delisle, who died Aug. 26, 1997.

She was employed for many years in the local shoe industry as a stitcher, and had worked in the South Portland Shipyard during World War II.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, shopping, reading, and loved to eat, even though she had a hard time tasting her food.

Survivors include one son, Patrick and his wife, Kathy, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a very special friend, Dolly Poisson of Lewiston; four brothers, Maurice Denis, Normand Denis and Rossario Denis, all of Lewiston, and Frank Denis of Utah; one half sister, Pauline Theberge; one grandson, James Christopher Delisle; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Jeannine and Annette; and two brothers, Ludger and Henry.
