OXFORD – The wedding of Megan June Bernard and Ronald Vashon was held on July 17 at the Veterans War Memorial Park in Oxford. Rachel Parent officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Vashon is the daughter of H. Joseph and Paula Bernard of Oxford. Mr. Vashon is the son of Joyce Nadeau of Waterville.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white strapless gown with pearl and crystal beading and she carried a fresh bouquet of white lilies, miniature carnations and roses.

Jessica Volpe, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor and Kristy Bunce and Stephanie Stetson, long-time friends, were bridesmaids. Kelsey Smith, cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid.

Alison Kane, Martha Staples and Justice Vashon all took part as flower girls. Riley Volpe, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Serving as best man for his father was Joshua Vashon. Ushers were Roger Deschene, friend, and Seth Wilson, brother of the bride, and Zachery Vashon, son of the bridegroom, was junior usher.

A reception followed at the American Legion Hall in Oxford, after which the couple took a trip along the Maine coast. They are residing in Winslow.

The bride is a graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and is currently attending the University of Maine at Farmington, studying elementary education. She is also an assistant manager at Gifford’s Ice Cream in Waterville.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Waterville High School and currently owns and operates Ron’s Painting in Winslow.
