I have a concern with the response that I received from Ward 1 City Councilor Stavros Mendros when I attempted to reach him concerning a problem that I am having around my home on Main Street.

In multiple attempts to reach Councilor Mendros totaling six, calling his phone number listed in the phone book at Hogan Road and leaving messages each time over a two-week period, he never had the courtesy to call me back. I was under the impression that city councilors were supposed to be concerned about their constituents’ problems. I guess I was wrong.

I do want to thank Councilor Robert Connors from Ward 4 for listening and checking into what, if anything, can be done to correct the problem. I do hope Councilor Mendros will read this and be more responsive to other Ward 1 residents’ problems and concerns in the future. That is why he ran for the position, isn’t it?
