BOSTON (AP) – Two of the state’s “most wanted” Level 3 sex offenders were arrested during the weekend, a day after authorities posted information about them on a new Web site.

Mark F. Mastera, 48, wanted for failing to register as a sex offender and a felony breaking and entering charge, was arrested at a motel in Bourne on Saturday after local police received an anonymous tip.

John R. MacLean, 41, also wanted for failing to register as a sex offender, was found in an apartment in Revere after state police in Framingham received an anonymous tip. MacLean was also wanted on two domestic violence charges.

Both men remain in custody.

MacLean is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on Monday.

Level 3 sex offenders are deemed to be the most likely to re-offend by the state Sex Offender Registry Board. The board has classified more than 8,000 sex offenders in recent years, 1,200 of whom are classified as Level 3.
