AUBURN – A high-speed chase that began in Lewiston late Sunday ended with a crash on Riverside Drive at about 10 p.m.

Lewiston officers began a pursuit that continued across the South Bridge and ended with the vehicle they were pursuing crashing into a large rock that was used as a barrier in front of Gagne & Son Concrete Blocks at 270 Riverside Drive, according to Auburn police.

The driver was transported to Central Maine Medical Center with undisclosed injuries. Authorities did not identify the driver and would not release additional details last night.
