PARIS – The annual safety training program for ATV and snowmobile riders will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 6, 7 and 8, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
Authorized instructors are donating their time. Maximum capacity is 40 students. Students ages 10 to 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the full program.

Christmas tree spraying offered
RUMFORD – Rumford Fire Department annual complimentary Christmas tree spraying will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. through Friday, Dec. 24, at the fire station.
Fire safety and holiday safety brochures are available. People may also donate a toy to benefit Santa’s Helpers. The event is sponsored by Rumford Professional Firefighters Local 1601.
Lunch and Learn Seminar set
RUMFORD – The next Business Lunch and Learn Seminar will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the River Valley Technology Center on 60 Lowell St.
The cost is $8 and includes lunch. Preregistration is required by phoning Beverly at 369-0396 or e-mailing [email protected] by Friday, Dec. 10.
The topic will be “Patent Searching and Patent Protection” by Woody Higgins, founding director of the Maine Patent Program.
This seminar will provide inventors and technology-based businesses with education and advice on the basics of patent rights and protections.
Christmas hymn sing at Waterford
WATERFORD – The public is invited to a Christmas hymn sing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Waterford Congregational Church, U.C.C.
People may request their favorite Christmas hymn or carol, sing along, or just sit and listen. Children’s favorites will be included as well.
The church is at the foot of Plummer Hill Road in Waterford Village.
