NEWRY – A report summarizing more than 130 erosion sites on the Bear River is expected to be released at tonight’s Bear River Watershed Committee meeting.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the Newry town office.
Committee member Jeff Stern said that the nonpoint source pollution sites were identified by volunteers who completed a walk-through survey of the watershed this summer and fall.
The Bear River stretches about 10 miles from Grafton Notch State Park, along Route 26 to its confluence with the Androscoggin River at Route 2 in Newry.
Other agenda topics include proposed designs to repair three of the top priority erosion sites in Newry.
