FARMINGTON – A community forum on DirigoChoice, a new health insurance product for small businesses and the self-employed, will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, in the Ben Franklin Education Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
The featured speaker will be Karynlee Harrington, executive director of Dirigo Health. Kyes Insurance representatives will also be available to provide quotes for businesses interested in DirigoChoice.
DirigoChoice is health care coverage designed to give Maine businesses with 50 or fewer employees, the self-employed, and individuals an affordable, high-quality.
Enrollees with DirigoChoice receive discounts on monthly payments and reductions in deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses based on their income and family size. The plan encourages healthy lifestyles by offering a variety of wellness resources and 100 percent coverage for prevention services.
“Providing health care coverage to employees is the right decision for businesses,” said Charlie Woodcock, Franklin Health Access director. “Unfortunately, over 130,000 working Maine people went without health insurance this year because of unpredictable costs. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions about DirigoChoice and network with other small businesses.”
The forum is sponsored by Franklin Health Access and the Healthy Community Coalition. More information may be obtained by calling Franklin Health Access at 779-2772, or toll free at (888) 952-2772.
