MEXICO – The Planning Board approved two site plans last week that will allow the establishment of one new business and a move for another.

Code Enforcement Officer David Errington said Rob Gaudette was granted permission to set up a restaurant and catering business to be known as Aromas in a Victorian-era house at 345 South Main St.

Errington said the new business, expected to open at the first of the new year, will be by reservation only. It will seat 30 people, and will host private gatherings and parties as well.

Site plan approval was granted pending passage of several state mandated approvals.

Also, Errington said the board approved a site plan for Joe Bordeau, of Bordeau and Sons Small Engine Repair, to construct a 28- by 45-foot, two-story building on the River Road, east of the village across from Coulthard’s Pools and Spas.

The small-engine repair business is on Highland Terrace.

Errington said Bordeau plans to lease a portion of the building to another tenant, and to use the building for his business. A spring opening is planned.
