JAY – A Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the VFW post. Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
Jazz Band performing
FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Karen Beacham, will perform from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington. All are welcome. Donations will be accepted at the door.

CARRABASSETT VALLEY – The Carrabassett Valley Academy is presenting a 16 mm ski and snowboard film, “Soul Purpose,” at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Anti-Gravity Center. Tickets will available at the door. “Soul Purpose” features Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Jeremy Jones and Erik Roner, who’s shown jumping off cliffs in Italy. Snowmobile club meeting slated
NEW VINEYARD – The New Vineyard North snowmobile club will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, for a short meeting and their Christmas party with an exchange of gifts and snacks.
Baked ham dinner
NEW SHARON – The Square and Compass Club and Star Club will sponsor a public baked ham dinner from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at the New Sharon Methodist Church annex to benefit the new Masonic building. The menu includes baked ham, raisin sauce, mashed potato, vegetable, rolls, dessert and beverages. These will be served family style for $6.50 adults and $4 for children 12 years and younger.
Christmas Fair
FARMINGTON – The 3rd annual “Winter Wonderland” ham dinner and Christmas Fair will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at St. Joseph Parish Hall at Middle and Quebec streets.
The fair includes a cookie walk, baked goods, craft and gift items and holiday wreaths. The menu for the dinner includes baked ham with pineapple stuffing, scalloped potatoes, green beans, rolls and apple crisp will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for $8 adults and $4 for children under 12.
Holiday party
FAYETTE – The Fayette Recreation Committee invites residents to a Community Holiday Party to be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Fayette Central School. The special guest for the evening will be new Town Manager Mark Robinson. Along with time for socializing there will also be music and refreshments. Those who play an instrument are invited to share their talent. There will also be door prizes and children’s activities. A donation box will be available for the Mount Vernon food bank for those who wish to donate nonperishable food items. The food bank serves the Fayette area. All are welcome. Christmas Festival
FARMINGTON – A Christmas Festival to benefit Operation Santa Claus will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 10 and 11, in participating shops in West Farmington. Santa Claus will greet children from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the park. Businesses will either donate a percentage of their sales or make a donation to Operation Santa Claus.
