TURNER – Tonja Jacobs is the newest member of the teaching staff at River Valley School. She accepted a position teaching high school English in June.
Jacobs graduated from Buckfield Junior Senior High School and attended the University of Maine at Farmington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary English education.
She recently completed the last of her courses for certification in special education through the University of Southern Maine and now holds a dual teaching certification.
Prior to coming to River Valley School, Jacobs taught for four years in special education English at Edward Little High School in Auburn. Last year she was a teacher at Buckfield Junior Senior High School, where she also taught special education English.
She resides in Buckfield with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, coaching gymnastics, writing, scrapbooking, dirt-biking and snowmobiling.
