LEWISTON – Raymond R. Brissette, 75, of 157 College St., Lewiston, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston, March, 20, 1929, and was the son of Theodule and Bernadette Deblois Brissette.

He was educated in local schools, and then entered the U.S. Air Force in 1951 thru 1955, during the Korean Conflict.

On Dec. 3, 1955, he married the love of his life, Joline Brochu, of 49 years.

He worked in local shoe shops for several years. He then worked as a carpenter/millwright for Local 407 and then worked for approximately 14 years at B.I.W. as an outside machinist and retired in 1993.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, and especially spending time with his family and friends.

He was a very loving, caring and giving man, who was always willing to help family and friends who needed his help. He was an active member of Saints Peter and Paul Church, a member of the Cursillo movement since 1977, the American Legion Post 22, and the Pastime Club.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Marcel and Guy of Lewiston; one brother, Gerry and wife, Irene Brissette, of Lisbon; two sisters, Antoinette Berube of Lewiston, and Muriel Picard of Lewiston; six grandchildren, John Brissette of Monmouth, Amy Brissette and husband, Nate, of Monmouth, Stacey Brissette of Albany, Kristy, Matthew, and Nicole Brissette all of Lewiston; two great-grandchildren, Celeste and Hunter Brissette of Monmouth; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Robert Brissette; and a sister, Simone Picard.

He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
