LEWISTON – June R. Adams, 88, a former resident of Hartford and more recently a resident of Schooner Estates, Auburn, died Monday, Dec. 6, at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in North Leeds, June 20, 1916, the daughter of Eugene and Amy Pratt Rose. She was educated in the grammar schools of North Leeds, was a graduate of Kents Hill High School, and graduated from Bliss Business College in Lewiston.
On June 10, 1941, she married Albert H. Adams at Canton Point.
Mrs. Adams was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was a founding member of the Hartford Community Church and a member of the Rebbeccas in Canton.
She had several interests throughout her life. In her earlier years she enjoyed skiing, and was involved with the girls basketball team at Kents Hill High School.
In more recent times, her primary interests were bingo, traveling, needle work, and most especially counted cross-stitch. An example of her handiwork is hanging behind the pulpit in the Hartford Community Church.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, of Auburn; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Judith A.) Hamilton of Hartford, Jane R. Adams, formally of Wonder Lake, Ill., and Mrs. Wayne (Bonnie S.) Brieske of Zion, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Jean Stetson of Clermont, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Bernard Eugene Adams, in 1992.
