Students at Lewiston Middle School are fortunate to have a program called UltraKey, which teaches the proper touch type method of keyboarding. using UltraKey helps students with posture and job opportunity training.
For the second year, LMS is running the X-Treme Typing Challenge. This challenge is for seventh and eighth grade students. Prizes are the incentive for participating.
Just trying the challenge gives you $1 off any item at the snack bar.
Typing 20 words per minute earns you an X-Treme Typing Challenge t-shirt.
Typing 30 words per minute earns you one Flagship movie pass and the above items.
If you reach 40 words , you receive 2 Flagship movie passes and all the above items.
All typing levels receive a certificate of achievement. At the end of each quarter the top student will win a special prize and the years winner receives a special grande prize.
