LIVERMORE – Holiday events have been planned for Dec. 11 and 18 at the Norlands Living History Center.

Caroling and a living-history event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11. The caroling is planned for 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. in the meetinghouse. Gerry Ellis will play the pump organ. Also Dec. 11, a living history experience will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Farmers Cottage, as participants help make baked goods and hot cocoa or enjoy a cup of coffee as they help with some of the seasonal work. The events are free, but organizers say donations will be appreciated.

On Dec. 18, Norlands will offer its monthly theme dinner. The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with entertainment by Steve Levine’s jazz duo, which will play during the meal and end the evening with a final set.

The meal this month is a gourmet extravaganza, and the chef will be Norlands Executive Director George Lyons. The menu includes seviche, cranberry and scallop in red cabbage bowl with sauteed spinach, orange and walnuts; Stilton pear soup with onions; duck with wild mushroom and chive risotto; lamb medallions with herbed baked potatoes, roasted chestnut, peas, horseradish mayonnaise; and a choice of cranberry apple pie, chocolate roulade or orange flan.

Reservations are required for this $50 per person event. Those attending may bring their own wine or other beverage if they choose. People may make reservations or obtain more information by calling 897-4366. People making reservations are asked to indicate their choice of dessert.
