RUMFORD – The inaugural 5-K Trail Ski Race and 1-K Koch Race were held recently at Black Mountain of Maine. Participants came from as far away as Vermont.

The trail race course traveled over sections of the regular Nordic cross country trails used during winter ski competitions and included a variety of challenging terrain.

Following were the race leaders:

Volunteers included members of the Chisholm Ski Club, Chamber of Commerce and Black Mountain.

Following the awards presentation and raffle, a beef stew and other refreshments were offered at Muriel’s Kitchen.
