FARMINGTON – Seven men were indicted Monday on burglary related charges.
The men were among 20 people indicted on 51 counts by the Franklin County grand jury.
Elliot L. Barden Jr., 23, of Temple, and his brother, Thomas J. Barden, 19, of Temple, were indicted along with Arion P. Emery, 21, of Farmington, all co-defendants in the same case, on one count each of burglary and aggravated criminal mischief.
The Bardens were also indicted on one count each of theft and Emery on one count of theft by unauthorized taking.
The three allegedly entered a residence on Aug. 20 in Temple and damaged windows, a furnace, appliances and furniture, with the amount of damage exceeding $2,000 in value, according to a court document.
The items allegedly taken in the Temple burglary are a computer, camera, television, video cassette recorder and a guitar.
In a separate case, Jerome E. Schoppee, 28, of Madison, was indicted on one count each of burglary and theft by unauthorized taking related to a March 10 incident in Kingfield.
Schoppee is accused of obtaining or exercising unauthorized control over $100 in U.S. currency from a business.
In another case, Nicholas A. Osgood, 21, of Farmington Falls, was indicted on one count each of burglary, terrorizing, criminal mischief, assault and theft by unauthorized taking.
Osgood is accused of entering a Chesterville residence and destroying clothing and other items with a circular saw on Nov. 21. Osgood also allegedly made a threat to commit murder against an individual, or to cause it to be committed.
Osgood is also accused of assaulting Franklin County Deputy Nathan Bean and taking items from the Chesterville residence.
Jeromy C. Merchant, 24, of Livermore Falls was indicted on one count each of burglary and theft by unauthorized taking.
Merchant is accused of entering a Chesterville residence on Aug. 19 with the intent to commit theft. He allegedly took money from the residence.
Phillip-Guy Marquis Smith Jr., 18, of Roxbury was indicted on two counts of burglary and one count each of theft and theft by unauthorized taking.
Smith allegedly entered a Rangeley residence and Oquossoc Grocery Store on July 22 with the intent to commit theft, according to a court document.
He allegedly took golf clubs and a gas can from the residence and cigarettes and alcohol from the the grocery store.
