RUMFORD – Castlebay will perform at the Rumford Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Public Room.

Castlebay’s members Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee support their fine vocals with Celtic harp, guitar, fiddle and woodwinds. The duo occasionally presents special theme concerts on various aspects of Celtic lore or Colonial America.

Their concert will include traditional seasonal songs from the Celtic lands with plenty of audience participation. Also featured will be songs from Gosbee’s new album, “The Night the Whiskey Froze; Stories and Songs for a Winter’s Night.”

His rendition of “The Night Before Christmas – Downeast” has become an annual tradition in the midcoast region of Maine since it was written in 1992, and there have been many requests for a recording of “that moose song.”
