PORTLAND – Lewiston native and veteran Maine meteorologist Matt Zidle has been hired by WMTW-TV. Monday, Dec. 6, Zidle will began providing weather forecasts for WMTW’s 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.
Prior to joining WMTW, Zidle was the morning meteorologist for a local Portland television station for five and a half years. Prior to working in Portland, Zidle was the chief meteorologist at WLTX in Columbia, S.C., and also worked at WSI, a company that provides weather graphics to television stations across the country. Zidle holds a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
Matt, his wife, Janet, and their son, William, live in Gorham. They are expecting the arrival of daughter, Lilly, shortly.
WMTW-TV, is the ABC affiliate for the Portland/Auburn Maine television market and is owned and operated by Hearst-Argyle Television Inc.
