This is in regard to the Dec. 10 letter to the editor about the consolidated school district with Durham and Lisbon. Should students now decide to go to Lisbon, they certainly may. They could also choose to go to Brunswick, Edward Little, Yarmouth or almost any other public school system in the state of Maine.

A CSD would not only take away that option, but residents of Durham would have no more say as to what happens in this CSD than we now have with any other school our children attend. Because of the ratio of population, Durham’s vote would not be a high enough percentage to outweigh anything Lisbon voted.

I feel the CSD is a bad move at this time, with too many unanswered future plans about consolidating.
