Holiday hours

JAY – The Town Office will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, for a holiday luncheon. The office also will be closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 23 and 24, and Friday, Dec. 31, for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

College planning

WILTON – Adults who are considering college are being invited to a free college-planning workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, in the Wilton CareerCenter. Services include: assistance in choosing a college, tutoring, personal and financial counseling, career counseling, assistance in applying to college, workplace and college visits, and assistance in applying for financial aid. Driver course

SALEM – The SAD 58 adult education program will offer a driver education class beginning Jan. 21 at Mount Abram High School. The class will be 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for three weeks. The driving portion will take place as soon as weather permits. Interested students, age 15 or older, are asked to preregister by Jan. 14. A $250 deposit must be made by the start of class. The cost is $500, which includes a $10 permit, car rental, insurance and gas. At registration, students must provide an original birth certificate and a photocopy of their Social Security card.
