LYNN, Mass. (AP) – A man was arrested on charges that he struck an 83-year-old woman and robbed her of $450 she had just won in a bingo game.
Investigators believe Heath Kennedy, 31, followed the woman to her apartment after she played bingo at St. Mary’s Church on Nov. 30, police said.
Police say Kennedy had been posing as a volunteer at the game, and was arrested after he was recognized in a video surveillance tape.
Kennedy was charged with unarmed robbery, assault and battery and larceny over $250, all on a victim over 65, as well as breaking and entering and intimidation of a witness.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lynn District Court.
