The Red Sox victory tour has added Lewiston-Auburn to its itinerary, State Sen. Peggy Rotundo announced Monday morning.

Members of the team are scheduled to bring their World Series trophy to the Twin Cities on Friday, said Rotundo, a Lewiston Democrat. She said further details would be announced later in the day.

Rotundo contacted Gov. John Baldacci’s office Friday after learning that the Red Sox planned to visit Portland, Augusta, Bangor and Presque Isle, but not Lewiston or Auburn.

Leaving out the state’s second-largest population area was not acceptable, Rotundo said Friday.
