A great wrong has been righted, it now appears.
State Sen. Peggy Rotundo felt real outrage last week when the governor’s office announced that the Boston Red Sox would be visiting Maine this week, but would skip Lewiston and Auburn in favor of points both north and south.
Rotundo went to work looking out for the Sox fans living in and around the Twin Cities. She came out on top.
While details are still being worked out, Rotundo says the Red Sox entourage visiting the state this week will make a stop in Lewiston on Friday.
Our feelings were hurt. We felt slighted. Rotundo and Lewiston Mayor Lionel Guay, along with a number of others angered about the snub, worked over the weekend to solve the problem.
Their reward will be the gratitude of Red Sox fans who want to celebrate the team’s historic World Series win and be part of the victory tour.
