HOPKINTON, N.H. (AP) – A Walpole man was killed Monday in a two-vehicle crash that closed part of Routes 202 and 9 for several hours.
Police said the accident occurred around 4:45 a.m. when a driver heading west crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle.
Klaus Grenz, 56, was killed. Kevin Kurowski, 30, of Hillsboro, was hospitalized in serious condition.
Sentencing on hold for Poisson
DOVER, N.H. (AP) – The sentencing of a Maine man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing two boys 23 years ago has been postponed while a judge considers restitution options.
Andre Poisson, 59, of Saco, Maine, pleaded guilty last month to two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and one count of felonious sexual assault.
The two Somersworth boys involved in the case were eleven and 14 when Poisson assaulted them.
The judge is considering how much restitution he should pay and the best way for him to do so.
N.H. landmark Yoken’s to be razed
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – Yoken’s – New Hampshire’s iconic Seacoast restaurant – is due to be demolished on Jan. 10.
The restaurant closed in September after 57 years of service that included hosting American presidents, members of Congress, politicians and scores of regular citizens.
The new owners of the property have not said what will go up in the restaurant’s place.
Free flu clinic set in Hanover
HANOVER, N.H. (AP) – A free flu shot clinic for seniors is set for Dec. 20 in Hanover.
Appointments are required.
Seniors can call 643-0743 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Wednesday. The number also will be available Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.
The clinic’s sponsors include Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, state agencies and the town of Hanover.
