JAY – A Jewell Street man was charged Tuesday with violating his probation and possessing cocaine. He was also cited with civil violations: possessing marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Derek Viles, 22, was charged after the Jay Police Department investigated, Jay Police Chief Larry White Sr. said.
Jay police, in conjunction with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Department of Probation, conducted a search of Viles’ apartment at 6 Jewell St., White said.
White and Jay Sgt. Charles Keene had developed information that led to the search and arrest of Viles, White said.
He received a summons on the Jay violations of misdemeanor possession of cocaine, and civil violations of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, White said.
