LEWISTON – Jeannette C. Laberge, 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, with her family by her side at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. Jeanette had been a resident at d’Youville Pavilion for the past four and a half years.

She was born in Lewiston on July 8, 1914, the older daughter of Joseph and Cedelice Caron. She attended school in Lewiston.

She worked several years at the Clark Shoe Manufacturing Company as a fancy stitcher and later as a floor supervisor. She also worked as a seamstress for Lebel’s Bridal Shop in Auburn.

She married Charles Poulin of Lewiston in 1936. They were married for 23 years until Charles’s death in 1959.

In 1962, she married Sylva Laberge of Lewiston and they resided in Greene for 34 years until Sylva passed away in 1996.

Jeannette was a member of Holy Family Church in Lewiston and later a member of St. Francis Mission in Greene where she was a singer and organ player for the church choir.

Jeannette was a very active lady. She was a gracious hostess, and her home was always open for get-togethers and family dinners. Jeannette was an avid bowler and card player; and she loved to sing and play her organ, and cook and bake.

She is survived by her three children, Donald H., Jeannine L. Cloutier, and Armand G.; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two husbands Charles Poulin and Sylva Laberge; a brother Armand and a sister Gloria.
