PARIS – Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 19, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St.

The sermon title is “Dressing for Christmas.” During her sermon she will present thoughts about what the deeper meanings are, or could be, of some Christmas traditions.

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist, with Renee Wales as flute soloist.

The Sunday School will be in session under the direction of Renee Wales and child care is provided. The special Christmas Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is invited.

Society talk

WEST PARIS – Finnish American Heritage Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Heritage Center, Maple Street. After the business meeting, the program will feature a talk by Reuben Rajala, “No Room for Us Here: Finns and American Finns in the Soviet Union.”

A coffee social will follow, and everyone is welcome. In case of a storm, the meeting will be canceled.

Carols festival

OXFORD – A Friday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve service, Festival of Lessons and Carols, will be held at 7 p.m. at the Oxford Advent Christian Church, Route 26. All are welcome. Anyone wanting details can call 743-7310.
