NORWAY – A special meeting Dec. 29 will be intended to generate ideas for supporting the arts and economic development.

Sponsored by Norway Downtown Revitalization and the Growth Council of Oxford Hills, the meeting is part of a Creative Connections series.

According to a press release from Anne Campbell, Main Street program manager for Norway Downtown Revitalization, Maine is slowly losing its manufacturing base and now cultural resources are among the state’s strongest assets.

“The Oxford Hills has a rich artistic community, but artists and arts organizations are finding they need ways to collaborate better, to share resources and promote each other’s work in order to grow their creative enterprises,” the press release stated.

Issues such as how to promote and strengthen the arts and share skills and resources will be discussed Dec. 29. The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Norway Memorial Library.

Creative Connections may become an ongoing forum for ideas and networking.
