ANDOVER – A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, at the First Congregational Church, UCC.

Family service

MEXICO – A Family Christmas service will be held at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, in the sanctuary of the Mexico Congregational Church.

The program will include the lighting of the Advent candles, the story of “The Cobbler and His Guest” presented by the Pastor Ginger and her husband, John, and the singing of several Christmas carols, including “Silent Night” with guitar accompaniment.

At 11 p.m. on Dec. 24 the annual “Candle and Carols service” will take place. The Senior Choir will sing special music, a service of candlelighting, scriptures and congregational carol singing will take place and Holy Communion will be offered.

As Christmas Day begins at midnight, the congregation will encircle the sanctuary with candlelight and sing “Silent Night.” The community is welcome.

On Sunday, Dec. 26, at 10 a.m. a service of worship will be held and the message will be “Telling the Stories of the Carols.” Soloists, the Senior Choir and the congregation will sing Christmas carols and the story of those carols will be told by Pastor Ginger and deacons of the church. There will be no Sunday school this week, but children will have their own message as usual and can sing carols and hear the stories. For more information call 364-8603.

Holiday service

MEXICO – A Christmas candlelight service with special music will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, at First Baptist Church, 20 Roxbury Road.

Society party

MEXICO – The Historical Society will have a Christmas party at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 3 Oxford Ave. Those who plan to attend are asked to bring finger foods and or desserts. There will be singing of Christmas carols and sharing stories about “Our Time” growing up.
