WEYMOUTH, Mass. – Hal T. Frank, 76, of Boston, died on Dec. 18, after a long illness.

He was born on March 20, 1928 and raised in Poland, the son of the late Leroy and Geneva (Thurston) Frank.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1951, serving in Germany and then in the Korean War as a medic.

Following the war, he studied at Northeastern University and Boston State College. He resided in Boston where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years.

He loved reading, history, philosophy, poetry, German music and walking and also loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda (Frank) Charrier, of Scituate, Sara Frank of Weymouth, Mass.; son, Col. Thomas W. Frank, M.D., of El Paso, Texas; sisters, JoAnne Frank of Auburn, and Sally Belisle of Lewiston; brothers, Freeman Frank of Melrose, and Royal Frank of Poland; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his siblings, Trudy Frank, Timothy Frank, and Philip Frank.
