WILTON – Selectmen will hear a report on Gov. John Baldacci’s budget proposal from state Rep. Tom Saviello, D-Wilton, when they meet Tuesday. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the town office.

The board will meet with Emergency Management Agency Director Tim Hardy to discuss a Franklin County mutual aid agreement. It will also consider adopting a Franklin County hazard mitigation plan.

Selectmen will hear a quarterly report from Fire Chief Sonny Dunham and consider adopting a 2005 budget proposal for the water department.

If officials receive a recommendation for a new code enforcement officer, they will consider making an appointment to that position. They will also sign a letter of appreciation for Katharine Shoaps, who recently resigned the position due to a family illness.

At their last meeting, board members decided not to advertise the position. They elected to take another look at two previous applicants they had considered when they hired Shoaps last spring. Town Manager Peter Nielsen will report to officials on whether one of those applicants can do the job.

Nielsen will report on intersection improvements at Routes 2 and 4 being done by the Maine Department of Transportation. He will also inform selectmen that the Maine Chiefs of Police Association will begin its departmental review of the Wilton Police Department on Jan. 5 and 6. The review is expected to take about 90 days, after which the town will be given a report of the findings.
