BETHEL – Emily K. Fletcher, 21, of 10 Grandview Ave., Auburn, died Saturday, Dec. 18, as a result of an auto accident on her way home from college.

Born in Lewiston, Feb. 10, 1983, Emily was the daughter of Ralph A. and Lyn E. Reilly Fletcher. She graduated from Edward Little High School in the Class of 2001. She was a junior at the University of Vermont majoring in nutrition/dietetics and food science.

While at E.L.H.S., she was a varsity field hockey player and captain and state championship winner in both cross-country and track. She was the vice president of her class and a member of the National Honor Society and Varsity Club.

At the University of Vermont, she rowed crew, was a member of the Food and Nutrition Club, and participated in numerous volunteer activities. She was also employed at Nectar’s Restaurant as a waitress and bartender.

She loved her family and friends, and the devotion to her family was most evident during the years of her mother’s illness.

She enjoyed reading, writing, and numerous outdoor activities such as running, snowboarding, and hiking. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and fun, and was known for her smile that would melt your heart.

She is survived by her father, Ralph, and fiance, Susan Byers; brothers, Ben and Sam Fletcher; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Reilly, all of Auburn; aunts, Rachel, Chris, Beth and Susan; uncles, Joe, Verdell, Patrick and Jay; and her cousins, Jennifer, Joseph and Patrick, Laura, Lisa, Amy and Sarah, Patrick, Tommy and Jeffrey, and Joe, Matt and Sam.

She is predeceased by her mother, Lyn, in 2001; and her grandfather, Joseph T. Reilly, in 1998.
