FARMINGTON – An intruder entered a Perham Street house early Sunday while seven family members slept and stole a large amount of cash, police said.
Two vehicles at the residence were also entered and money was taken from one of them, Farmington police officer Brian Ross said.
While Ross was investigating that incident, another Perham Street resident drove up and said the family vehicle had also been entered and an item taken, Ross said.
The officer declined to disclose how much cash was taken from the residence and what item was taken from the vehicle due to the ongoing investigation.
It is believed that someone entered the Perham Street house between 1:30 and 7:30 a.m., Ross said.
A tenant of the single-family home reported the incident at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, he said.
The woman reported that the house was broken into and a large amount of cash was taken, Ross said.
The woman went outside and discovered that two vehicles were also entered, Ross said.
All the vehicles and the house were entered through unlocked doors, Ross said.
Police had no suspects in the case as of Monday morning.
It is the second time in two weeks that a residence in the area was entered while occupants were sleeping. A house was entered late Dec. 7 or early Dec. 8 on Stewart Avenue. Among the items taken in that case was the retiree’s purse.
Ross declined to say whether the cases are related.
