NORTH JAY – Leroy A. Pollis Jr., 61, of North Jay, died Monday morning, Dec. 20, at his home following a long illness.

He was born Nov. 15, 1943, in Augusta, the son of Leroy A. and Carrie (Stevens) Pollis Sr. He received his education in Fayette and LIvermore Falls Schools.

He was employed by K & H Foster, worked as a driver for Redi-Mix, operated a Gas Station in Dryden, and later was employed at the Otis Mill and International Paper Co. He was a journeyman electrician for the Union at various papermills and construction sites and for a short time owned his own construction company.

He was a former member of the Jay Police Dept. and was a member of the Jay Volunteer Fire Dept., the Masons, Shrine and North Jay Grange. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time at his camp in Stratton.

He is survived by two sons, Darren Pollis of North Jay; and his children, Levi and Logan and Duane Pollis and his wife, Stephanie, of Wilton; and their children, Miranda and Randall; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Patricia Flagg.
