JAY – The School Committee voted Monday to extend the superintendent’s contract by one year.
The new contract for Superintendent Robert Wall runs through June 30, 2008, committee Chairman Clint Brooks stated in an e-mail.
A salary for the one-year extension was not addressed Monday. Wall’s salary for this school year is $80,850, the superintendent said Tuesday.
The School Committee met with Wall in executive session Monday evening to complete his annual job performance review.
Upon re-entering public session, Brooks said, the committee voted unanimously to support member Gene Uhuad’s motion to extend the current working agreement by one year, Brooks said.
“Dr. Wall has exhibited an impeccable work ethic and a diligence toward initiating the many changes necessary to keep Jay schools in step with mandates from Maine Learning Results and No Child Left Behind, as well as the budgetary impacts from the impending Essential Programs and Services act,” Brooks stated.
He said the Jay School Committee “is fortunate to have a superintendent with the experience and expertise that Dr. Wall brings to this position and that he will continue to lead our schools for the immediate future.”
