FARMINGTON – Farmington Emblem Club members Shannon Smith and Nancy Chase met at 6 a.m. Dec. 4 at the Granary Restaurant to decorate the Emblem Club-sponsored Christmas tree that the Rotary Club planned to auction off that evening following a public viewing during the day.

The two women had three hours to put 460 red, white and blue ornaments on the tree plus lights, fiberoptic, a patriotic winged angel and white garland. The Emblem Club has collected ornaments in different themes or colors for the past few years for the occasion.

The Emblem Club also sponsored its second annual craft fair on that day at the Elks Lodge in West Farmington. Several crafters displayed and sold their wares as well as the Emblem Club with their tables of food, crafts, cutlery and books.

Emblem members who helped with the fair include chairwomen Sharon Jacques and Sylvia Richards, Claudette Merchant, Debbie Holt and Christine Greenleaf.
