FARMINGTON – The Foothills Arts Center is offering a new workshop for children ages 6 through 10.

“Drawing for Kids” will be a five-week workshop from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays from Jan. 8 to Feb. 5 at the arts center. Young people of all levels of ability and experience are welcome.

It will include various drawing techniques and materials, including pastels, charcoal and pencil. They will create drawings from their imaginations and from the world around them. Instructor Brent Laflin will teach them about line, shadow, shape and texture – and how to put them together in a composition.

The fee is $37.50 per child. Sliding fees are available for people who cannot afford the full amount. For more information and to sign up, people may contact director Anne Geller at 778-0448.
