PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H. (AP) – The Forest Service expects a steady stream of hikers on New Hampshire’s Mount Washington during the holiday, and it says hikers should expect avalanche warnings.
The Forest Service said avalanche danger is moderate to high. It said there’s about 10 inches of snow on the summit, with about 10 feet in the bowl at Tuckerman Ravine.
Officials advise hikers to check with the Appalachian Mountain Club for current conditions before heading to the snowfields.
