LIVERMORE – The Livermore Transfer Station’s holiday hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 23, Dec. 26, Dec. 28, Dec. 30 and Jan. 2. it is closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Residents are reminded to place all ribbons and bows in the regular trash and not to mix them with wrapping paper.

Church services

WILTON – St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Christmas services begin with a family service and chancel drama at 5 p.m. Dec. 24. Michael Cooper will present a dramatic reflection on the Christmas story. The service also features traditional Christmas carols and Holy Communion.

A midnight Eucharist will be held at 11 p.m. and will be preceded by a carol sing at 10:30 p.m. Participants will gather and sing many of the Christmas carols that there isn’t time to sing in one service. The traditional midnight Mass in a partially darkened church will follow.

A peaceful Christmas Day Holy Communion service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.

All are welcome to attend. St. Luke’s is at the corner of High and School streets.

Hovey to perform

FARMINGTON – Donald Hovey of Boston will be the special guest soloist at the 9 a.m. service on Sunday, Dec. 26, at the Farmington Falls Union Baptist Church. His selection will be “The Last Chord.”

Take-out supper

NEW SHARON – A take-out bean supper will be held from 10 a.m to noon Saturday, Jan. 1, at the New Sharon Congregational United Church of Christ on Cape Cod Hill Road. The meal includes a quart of baked beans, a pint of coleslaw, yeast rolls or brown bread and a whole homemade pie for $12. People may reserve meals by calling Leona at 778-3812. On the day of the event, people may arrange to pick up reserved meals by calling the church at 778-2517.

Color advice

WILTON – At the next meeting of the Western Mountain Women’s Connection, color adviser Deb Morang of Dixfield will help participants determine the best colors to wear and to decorate homes. Area women are invited to attend the meeting to be held Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the Boiler Room Restaurant on Main Street. There are two opportunities to attend. Lunch is from 11:30 to 1:15 and dinner is from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $11 which includes gratuity and tax.

Also at the event, John Romano, state director of Child Evangelism Fellowship, will speak on “The Power of Mom in a Teenager’s Life.” Reservations and notifications of cancellations are necessary.
