BRUNSWICK – Comedy and music will be featured at The Theater Project’s eighth annual Winter Cabaret, which opens at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at 14 School St.
Performances will run weekends through Feb. 6 with two Sunday matinees.
This annual “escape from the winter blues” combines hilarious theater, groovy music and desserts provided by The Humble Gourmet, organizers said. As in the past, the theater will be transformed into a relaxed cabaret with candlelit cafe tables, soft lighting and wait staff.
It features The Theater Project Ensemble Company in new short comedy sketches by Christopher Durang and David Ives. Peter Dugas will provide jazz piano music.
The acting and directing ensemble includes Al Miller, Wendy Poole, Christopher Price, Heather Weafer, Michele Livermore-Wigton and Keith Anctil. JP Gagnon is lighting designer, Jen Roe is costume and props designer, and Wendy Poole is production manager.
Performance dates are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, Jan. 21 and 22, 28 and 29, and Feb. 4 and 5; and 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays, Jan. 30 and Feb.
All tickets are pay-what-you-want with a suggested price of $15. For reservations, people can call the box office at 729-8584 or e-mail [email protected].
Reservations must be picked up a half-hour before curtain time and latecomers cannot be seated. The Theater Project is in downtown Brunswick, behind the Eveningstar Cinema.
