FARMINGTON – Alice M. Belanger, 87, of Chesterville, died early Friday morning, Dec. 24, at Orchard Park Nursing Home, in Farmington.
She was born, July 26, 1917, in Chesterville, a daughter of Frank and Viola (Richards) Farrington. She attended local schools, graduating from Wilton Academy.
Alice worked the majority of her life in local shoe shops, mainly G.H. Bass in Wilton.
She loved animals of all types, especially birds which she could quickly identify. She also enjoyed fishing, playing beano, going for rides, and picnics.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris LeBarron and her husband, Harry, of Strong; a beloved grandson, William “Bill” Belanger and his wife, Brenda, of Jay, their children, William Jr. and Amanda; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Ralph Whitney; a daughter, Gloria Belanger; a sister, Dorothy Merrill; and a brother, John Farrington.
