LIVERMORE – Administrator Kurt Schaub told selectpersons at their meeting last week about two cost reductions – welcome news in a time of increasing governmental costs.
In a meeting with Franklin Memorial Hospital President Rick Batt, Schaub learned that Livermore’s subsidy for ambulance service next year should be $22,600, down from the current $28,000.
The town many also receive a refund for the current year. The hospital would like a two-year self-renewal contract in which the rate would be determined by the Medical Consumer Price Index.
Schaub also noted that the cost of belonging to the Oxford County Regional Solid Waste Corp., which handles the town’s recyclables, will be going down 9.6 percent due to recent increases in prices for recyclables. The town’s cost in 2005 will be $6,640.97.
In other business, the board has denied an abatement request from Annie Soda, saying there was no credible evidence that the property in question had been overvalued. The request carried no specific amount.
A supplemental bill will be sent to Richard Parker for waterfront property that he has never been taxed for. He will be billed for three years, one on the new valuation and two on the old, for a total of $985.66.
