AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer two sections of Introduction to QuickBooks. The first, CPT 059-01, is a two-day class from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 12 and 13; the second, CPT 059-21, will start Feb. 2 and run through March 14 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays. The cost of each class is $195 and includes materials. Classes will be held in Kirk Hall.

QuickBooks is the one of the most popular small-business computer accounting packages available. Participants will learn how to set up an accounting system for a company, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, create invoices, bill customers, print checks and create financial statements. A basic understanding of Windows is recommended.

The class will be taught by Ken O’Brien. O’Brien owns a computer consulting company in Woolwich and specializes in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and Web Design.
