I understand that Christmas is now referred to as happy holidays in schools and corporations. The wording is for political correctness, so as not to offend others.
My question is: Why is Kwanzaa celebrated? It is not a precolonial holiday, but a fabricated concept invented in 1966 by a Maulana Karenga, now a college professor in California. According to court records, Karenga was once named Ron Everett and was convicted of torturing two women. He awarded himself the title “maulana,” Swahili for “master teacher,” in the 1960s.
Why isn’t this pseudo festival offensive? The topic needs to be discussed.
