LIMESTONE – The Maine School of Science and Mathematics, a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology and Maine’s only public residential high school, will hold informational meetings during the week of Jan. 3.
The meetings will feature a short video, a presentation for prospective students and families, information about summer programs and an opportunity to speak with students and parents. Informational meetings will be held in Bangor, Belfast, Brunswick, Houlton, Mexico, Saco, Springvale and Thomaston.

Seeking teens
GARDINER – Johnson Hall’s sixth annual Teen-Elementary School Shows program is seeking teens interested in theater and art for creative, paid positions. Teens will help write, direct and produce plays in local schools with elementary students as the actors.
Needed are six theater directors and three art directors who are enthusiastic, skilled with elementary students, committed, reliable and have their own transportation or can arrange it. The program operates from late January to early May in two-week sessions, three days a week.

Augusta classes
FAIRFIELD – Kennebec Valley Community College will begin offering a dozen classes in Augusta early next year in an effort to expand access to its programs.
The college has rented rooms and office space at the Augusta Armory on Western Avenue for the off-campus courses, and the first classes will start on Jan. 18. An open house where students can register and meet with college staff and instructors will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Armory.
Acting Academic Dean Karen White said tuition for the courses will be the same as that paid for on-campus courses.

Winter swap
NASHUA, N.H. – The New England Antique Radio Club will hold its winter swap meet from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 22, at Saint Stan’s Hall, Pine Hill Road.
Club members from throughout New England, New York and New Jersey will participate with more than 100 tables of antique and collectible radios, TVs, parts, books, magazines, advertising and other related items for sale or trade.
Special events will include three radio contests featuring Trans-Oceanic, tube testers and items bearing Edison’s name or image. The public is invited.
Admission during exhibitor set-up from 7 to 8 a.m. is $15; early admission from 8 to 9 a.m. is $5 and general admission after 9 is $2.
