SOUTH PARIS – Oxford County 4-H celebrated the close of the 4-H year with a countywide achievement event recently. Four-H members and leaders came from across the county to hear of the accomplishments of members and to have a night of bowling and fun.

The Outstanding 4-H Member was recognized earlier in the year at Fryeburg Fair. Brittany Brown of Oxford has been a 4-H member for six years. She has been a member of the Shawnee Shepherds and Green Clover 4-H Club.

Her work has focused primarily on the sheep project. As a senior member she created a video and power point presentation on “How to Raise a Lamb to a Show Animal.” Her work has included many leadership opportunities in her club and at the county level.

Leader Dawn Robinson of Hebron was also recognized as an Outstanding 4-H Leader. Robinson is the organizational leader of the Golden Fleece 4-H Club. She is active at the county level and plans the three-day Maine 4-H Days Sheep Track for state 4-H members. Robinson has been a leader for five years and gives freely of her time.

Oxford County 4-H also recognized Outstanding 4-H Leader Bonnie Hall from the Dalmatians 4-H Club. Hall has been a leader for 11 years and takes on many leadership roles at the county level with the Oxford Leaders’ Association.

She has been involved with the achievement events, county fairs, exhibits and Maine 4-H Days. Hall has planned and implemented the photography track at Maine 4-H Days for a number of years.
