PARIS – A Dixfield man pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday in Paris on charges of marijuana trafficking and cultivation.
Danny G. Engberg, 51, was released on personal recognizance bail by Oxford County Superior Court Judge Ellen Gorman. A trial date has yet to be set.
Engberg was indicted by an Oxford County grand jury on Nov. 19, on a Class B felony charge of aggravated trafficking in marijuana, a Class C felony charge of aggravated marijuana cultivation, and criminal forfeiture of four seized firearms.
Gorman ordered Engberg not to possess illegal drugs or dangerous weapons, and to submit to random chemical tests and searches.
Engberg was initially arrested on Aug. 31 by Dixfield Patrolman Jeffrey Howe after an early morning no-knock search warrant at his home on Drowns Road.
